Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011

I want to share my enthusiasm for Microsoft Dynamics CRM the 2011th.

Long awaited and ongoing, there have been shown all or parts of the application. Now I start the first project with this new delicious version.
There are several blog posts with different descriptions and highlights depending on the needs and requirements.

What I have found the benefits for my project so far:

  • VIEWS FOR QUEUES :-) add columns, filter.... wauwwww.....
  • Several forms for entities: Finally. First step in 4.0 was a fit / gap to identify functionality, fields and forms to be added. Forms were so custom forms (ISV forms)
  • Security model: Man, being able to choose who can see what fields and what their rights are in the field. Finally.
  • Teams: The use of teams in the 4.0 was fine. Now it is an even more integral and users can be grouped across business units.
  • Naming conventions: It's probably a small and a bit geeky thing, but in the big picture so as to align withthose terms being worked on in the surrounding technologies for CRM. That is along sql, C # and JavaScript. It is smart, so we should not chicken around for interpreters.

So it is delicious .... And works immediately stable. Almost scary stable.

But i think we can live with that!

Cisco VPN client install - Error 27850: unable to manage network component

A while ago i was trying to install Cisco VPN Client on my win7 64-bit laptop. Had errors and after being struggeling with for a couple of days i gave up, I had a tip from one of my fellow colleegues recommending SHREWSOFT. That woked like a charm.
Now i needed this cisco client. Errors were the same:
Error 27850: unable to manage network component. Operating system corruption may be preventing installation.

resolution was an easy fix in registry for controlset.

The maximum number of network  filter drivers in Windows 7 is 14.

By default, it is set to 8.

I increased it to 8 in the the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network\MaxNumFilters

Then i did an update of dne (ftp://files.citrix.com/dneupdate64.msi) and installed the cisco client successfully.

Happy new year!
